CONFESSING OUR SINS

"I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity have I not hidden.  I said, I will confess my transgressions to the LORD; and You forgave the iniquity of my sin.  Selah"

Psalm 32:5

I use to find it so hard to forgive myself when I went out and did something wrong.  I was my harshest critic.  There was always guilt associated with what I'd done, so I doubted that the LORD had truly forgiven me.  We have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory.  If He should count any of our sins, then who could stand and say they are innocent?

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"

I John 1:9

Jesus' blood cleanses us from all sins when we come to Him in repentance.  There is no sin too big for our LORD to forgive, but we must come in full confession to Him.  We can no longer try to keep our iniquities hidden and think we are fooling God.  He sees all.  When we make confession to Him we are truly acknowledging that He washes us thoroughly and completely.  Stop trying to hide and come boldly to His throne.  Honest confession will surely be good for your soul.

PRAYER & PRAISE

"O Give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good; for His mercy endures forever"

Psalm 136:1

How wonderful it is to approach the throne of God with thanksgiving and praise!

I have found that when I start off my prayers with thanksgiving and song the LORD truly blesses my soul.  There is nothing quite like being in the presence of God as He is pouring out His omnipotent power upon you.  If you ever find yourself in a loss for words when talking to God, just start praising Him in song.  As you begin to lift up your voice in sweet praises God's blessings truly will come down.  You will have unspeakable joy.

"Praise ye the LORD; for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.  Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God"

Psalm 147:1,7

Why not start your prayer off in song and thanksgiving the next time you pray.  I believe that you will find, just as I have, the LORD will bless you abundantly.  Our greatest truly ins gained in a prayer of praise!
