THERE IS NOTHING TOO HARD FOR GOD

God can do anything.  There is nothing too hard for Him.

When I was growing up I remember there was this Gospel church program that came on every Sunday morning, and the pastor's wife would always say, "What God can't do it just can't be done."  Well, there is nothing that God can't do!

He spoke this world into existence.  He created man and beast.  He came down to this earth in the form of sinful flesh to redeem us from sin.  He spoke "Peace Be Still" to a raging sea and it was calmed.  He was crucified on the cross at Calvary, yet rose again after three days with all power in His hands.  He conquered death and the grave for us.  No, there is no doubt in my mind that God can do anything.

Whatever darkness you may be facing today give it to God and just know that "He Can" and "He Will" if you only believe.  Put your complete trust in Him.  Don't doubt that God is able to do exceeding abundantly above anything that you ask or think.  Satan will always be there to try and get you to doubt God's Word.  But, remain firm in the faith.  Don't let the Devil shake your faith.  Keep your eyes focused upon Jesus Christ.  Obey His Word.

For With God There Is Nothing That Is Impossible!

HOW DO WE GET TO KNOW GOD?

"But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits"

Daniel 11:32

How do we get to know God?

To get to really know anybody you must spend time with them.  It is the same with God.  There is a big difference between knowing about God and knowing Him personally.  The LORD seeks out an intimate relationship with all of His children.  We must be willing to get up to Him as closely as we possibly can.  We serve a God that desires that we talk to Him daily and get to know Him through His Word.  In return He will walk and talk with us and bless us abundantly.

"Many will say to Me in that day, LORD, LORD, have we not prophesied in Your name?  And in Your name have cast out devils?  And in Your name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess to them, I never knew you:  depart from Me, you that work iniquity"

Matthew 7: 22-23

The more time that we spend in prayer and bible study, the more we get to know God.  This is the best way to truly know Him.  He died to have a personal relationship with each of us.  Would you like a personal relationship with Christ?  Start today by prayerfully spending time in His Word.  You will be rewarded with joy and peace that passes all understanding.

HAVING CONFIDENCE IN GOD

"For the LORD shall be your confidence, and shall keep your foot from being taken" Proverbs 3:26

"LORD, I need more confidence!"

These were the words that I spoke to the LORD a couple of weeks ago as I agonized over my dilemma of not being able to win this battle of the bulge and to drop a few pounds.  Here I was, wondering why I'm always failing when it comes to losing a little weight.  "Why is this always so hard for me?", I asked myself.

I was led to study come scriptures on confidence.  I didn't really have the assurance that I could ever do this on my own and I tended to beat myself up when I made all the wrong choices, and it seemed I was always making the same mistakes.  The Word of God is a medicine.  We can use it to fix all the problems we will ever have in this life.  Here I was....reading it daily....but I was not putting it to work in my life.

"But be you doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like to a man beholding his natural face in a glass.  For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was.  But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed"
James 1: 22-25

Wanting something bad enough, and working toward something that you want bad enough, are two different things.  What I've been relying upon is confidence in my own weak flesh, and not fully trusting the LORD to help me through this.  My area of weakness has always been food and turning to it instead of God in moments of stress and temptation.  I've been dealing with bouts of depression since coming into menopause.  Though my doctor prescribed me medication to treat this disorder, what has worked best for me is prayer and the Word of God.  But, I'm still dealing with my addiction to food.

"And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petition that we desired of Him"
I John 5: 14-15

Herein lies my answer, and I thank the LORD for guiding me through His Word.  I can start anew, and I can drop some weight.  I need only trust God.

I will keep updates on my progress.  This will be a good accountability practice.  Please remember me in your prayers.  From strength to strength....We Stand.

A CHRIST BUILT HOME

"Every wise woman builds her house:  but the foolish plucks it down with her hands"
Proverbs 14:1

When I married my husband in 2012 I became a stepmother to four children (a son, 18 years old, and three daughters, ages 8, 12, 16).  To say that I was a little scared is an understatement.  I had no idea whatsoever of what it took to be a good mother and I didn't feel that I was prepared at all.  I knew that it would take much prayer.  So I prayed often, and a lot.

"Now to Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us"
Ephesians 3:20

The LORD helped me to see that, though it looked impossible, that He makes all things possible.  Children from divorced homes are sometimes hard to deal with because there's always that trust issue.  In their minds no one could ever take the place of their biological parent.  There were certainly moments when I felt overwhelmed.  My constant prayer was, "Lord, please teach me how to be a good mother and wife."  I knew that I had no prior experience and that only He could teach me.  Of course, living in the moment taught me as well and it was no easy feat, but one thing that I knew for sure, nothing was impossible with God.

"Pray without ceasing"
I Thessalonians 5:17

I knew, just as I know now, there is only one foundation to build upon, and that is Jesus Christ.  I have learned that anybody can have a house, but it takes faith in God to build a home.

"Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it"
Psalm 127:1

I pray daily for my husband and children.  We have come through so much in our family these last three years.  For every tear that I've shed the LORD has never failed to show me that when I choose to put my faith in Him that He won't let me down.  There is still so much to be done, but I'm so thankful that now I can sit down with my family and we can pray and study the bible together.  My son, who is now 22, gave his life to Christ last year and the Lord has completely changed him.  Oh what a blessing that is!  I am convinced that the LORD puts nothing on us that He knows we can't bear.  Though the storms may rage He is still on board speaking, "Peace be still".  I'm thankful for the battle scars and for the Lord Christ Jesus who is teaching me how to build my home, and that's by much prayer and supplication.  Praise be to His holy name!

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

"You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light to all that are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven"
St. Matthew 5: 14-16

If we are to represent Jesus Christ we are to live and conduct ourselves like born again believers.  Sometimes it's hard to tell Christians from the world.  There is to be a difference.  We are meant to be lights for Christ.  If we truly have Him living on the inside of us, then we will walk as He did.  Are we imitators of God, or are we acting and living as the world?"

"Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.  But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient:  but rather giving of thanks.  For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord:  walk as children of light"
Ephesians 5: 1-4, 8

We can take joking and silliness to a whole new level at times.  Not that we as believers can't have a sense of humor, but if not careful we can take things too far.  We are to study to show ourselves approved of God and avoid empty and worldly chattering (2 Timothy 2: 15-16).  It will only lead us into further ungodliness.

When we truly represent Jesus Christ, we will be a light shining so brightly that the world will be on a wonder and they will be drawn to that light.  Jesus said in John 9:5 "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."  If we allow Him to live and work through us, then His light will shine brightly.  The world needs to see that Jesus' light in us.  We are to walk as wise, not as fools (Ephesians 5:15).
