LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

"You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light to all that are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven"
St. Matthew 5: 14-16

If we are to represent Jesus Christ we are to live and conduct ourselves like born again believers.  Sometimes it's hard to tell Christians from the world.  There is to be a difference.  We are meant to be lights for Christ.  If we truly have Him living on the inside of us, then we will walk as He did.  Are we imitators of God, or are we acting and living as the world?"

"Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.  But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient:  but rather giving of thanks.  For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord:  walk as children of light"
Ephesians 5: 1-4, 8

We can take joking and silliness to a whole new level at times.  Not that we as believers can't have a sense of humor, but if not careful we can take things too far.  We are to study to show ourselves approved of God and avoid empty and worldly chattering (2 Timothy 2: 15-16).  It will only lead us into further ungodliness.

When we truly represent Jesus Christ, we will be a light shining so brightly that the world will be on a wonder and they will be drawn to that light.  Jesus said in John 9:5 "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."  If we allow Him to live and work through us, then His light will shine brightly.  The world needs to see that Jesus' light in us.  We are to walk as wise, not as fools (Ephesians 5:15).
