Psalm 46

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.  Selah.  There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.  God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved:  God shall help her, and that right early.  The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved:  he uttered his voice, the earth melted.  The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.  Selah.  Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.  He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.  Be still, and know that I am God:  I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.  The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.  Selah."

Trust God's Word

"My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God."

Proverbs 2:1-5

In these last days we have to read and study God's Word for ourselves. There are many people speaking many things.  Some of these things are not backed up by scripture or twisted dramatically.

"Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:  To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things"

Proverbs 2:11-12

The bible speaks of many deceivers and false Christs.  All the answers you need are found in the Holy Word of God.   You can trust God. In St. John 5:46 Jesus said to  "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life:  and they are they which testify of me."

"But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.  Take ye heed, watch and pray:  for ye know not when the time is.  For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.  Watch ye therefore:  for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the corkcrowing, or in the morning:  Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.  And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch"

St. Mark 13:32-37

"But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.  Therefore be ye also ready:  for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh"

St. Matthew 24:43-44

Judgement Day, 2011

People of God, don't be fooled by all this.  We do not know when Jesus is coming back.  The signs of His coming are everywhere but that can be anytime.  No one person can pinpoint that time.
  There are so many deceivers in this world who interprets the Word of God wrong and therefore cause many people to stumble and fall away. I encourage you today brothers and sisters to pray and ask the Lord to give you the knowledge  and understanding of His Word.  God cannot lie. Develop a personal relationship with Him . He said  "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:  If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me"

   Revelation 3:20

 Read St. Matthew 24;  Read St. Mark 13;  Read Luke 21.  Fear God and keep His commandments.  Always stay ready.  Always stay prepared.  The Bridegroom is coming again.  Keep oil in your lamp.  Don't wait until it's too late and the door is shut to you. (Matthew 25).  Fear God and keep His commandments.  The Word of God is clear.  Let God speak to you.

Boast Not About Tomorrow (Proverbs 27:1)

"Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth"
Proverbs 27:1

Many times I hear people tell of all the things they will do in the future tense.  They will say, "Next weekend I'm going to visit some old friends of mine from high school or, "My family and I are going on vacation in another month."  As a matter of fact I hear someone say on a daily basis I'm going to do this or I'm going to do that.  As if they know they're going to be in condition to do those things or either take for granted that they will even be alive to do those things.  We should learn to pray, "LORD, being in your will we will get this done or we will get that done."  We have no way of knowing what tomorrow will bring.

"Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow, we shall go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.  Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow.  You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.  Instead, you ought to say, "If the LORD wills, we shall live and also do this or that."
James 4:13-16

Father, we ask you to help us to pray according to Your will, for neither of us knows what a day will bring.  Help us to thank You for the present and trust You for our future.  In Jesus name, Amen!

Wisdom From Proverbs (15:1)

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger."
Proverbs 15:1
Be mindful today of how you speak to people and the tone of voice that you use.  Sometimes it is not so much what we say, but how we say it.   I have learned from experience that I can get a lot more accomplished by speaking softly and kindly to people than by being harsh.  I know that it could be difficult sometimes when certain people that you speak to come at you in a hostile way.  But ask the LORD to prepare your heart in situations like these how to answer such people.

"The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD"
Proverbs 16:1

Prayer:  "LORD, teach me how to answer people who may speak harshly to me and help me to win them by the knowledge you place in my heart.  In Jesus name, Amen!"

"When You Do It Unto The Least Of These...."

"When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:  And before him shall be gathered all nations:  and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:  And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.  Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat:  I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink:  I was a stranger, and ye took me in:  Naked, and ye clothed me:  I was sick, and ye visited me:  I was in prison, and ye came unto me.  Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee?  or thirsty, and gave thee drink?  When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in?  or naked, and clothed thee?  Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?  And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:  For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat:  I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:  I was a stranger, and ye took me not in:  naked, and ye clothed me not:  sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.  Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?  Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment:  but the righteous into life eternal
St. Matthew 25:31-46

This morning I felt in my spirit a little broken.  Being the caregiver of an aging parent who suffers from Alzheimers sometimes take its effect upon me.  I must admit it's a downright daunting task sometimes.  There's really no glory in it.  There's not much time for myself and I was in one of those moments when I just wanted to be alone and to be by myself.  I just wanted to be with the LORD in complete silence and meditation.  So I went to my prayer closet and just lay there.  Finally mom was quiet and had drifted off to sleep.  This was my moment to just take a break.  I took my netbook and bible with me and just got upon my knees.  There was no noise.  Just the sound of my tears as they hit the carpet and the vision board that I'd put down with varios scriptures of faith.  All I could do was just weep silently.  I knew that I was in the presence of God and someone who really cared about my feelings.  Living in a day and age when the love of many are waxing cold I felt much comfort to release those tears.  I can't even remember the words that I spoke to God because they were so few.  But I could feel His piercing eyes as He spoke these words to me, "What you do for one of the least of these, you have done it unto Me."  There was no loud preaching or big music going off in my head.  There was no flaming fire appearing before my eyes.  Just the still, small voice of Jesus Christ reassuring me that nothing that I do as unto Him goes unnoticed.  It was in that moment that I found great peace and comfort and my heart started to smile and rejoice.

If you out there are in the labor field and you're giving all that you have to the Lord; if you're caring for an aging or sick parent; if you're supporting missionary funds or helping the homeless people you meet on the street; if you're going to the jails, nursing homes, hospitals and youth camps and witnessing to them; if you're praying day and night for lost souls and the millions of people suffering in this world;  Well, sometimes you may feel that you're not even striking matches.  When you put yourself up against the big evangelist and missionaries who's travelling the globe and all you seem to be getting is nowhere quick.  Just remember that no good deed goes unnoticed by God.  When you live a total "selfless" life to help others you will be rewarded.  Sometimes you may get a bit of recognition here on earth.  That's all fine and good.  But the greatest reward itself will come in the end.  Don't be discouraged that there seem to be no praise.  There are no pats on the back.  There are no award ceremonies.  All of these things are temporal and will soon pass away.  Do everything that you do as unto the LORD.  He records every deed.  He catches every tear.  He hears every prayer spoken or uttured silently.  God never forgets.  Though many people come and go you can be assurred of the steadfast love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  You can't measure your work against anyone else.  God gives to us according to our several ability.  Just stay focused on Christ and the work at hand that He has called you for.  It is my desire to someday reach the masses and to travel and do missionary and evangelistic work.  But right now God has not called me for that.  Right now He has called me to be a servant to those closer to me and to labor in prayer for lost souls.  He has called me to offer a smile to the people that I meet in my going and coming.  He has called me to take care of my mother in her last years of life.  No, there's no glory in all this.  There's no recognition.  Only many sleepless nights and not much time for myself.  But through it all I know that God has more in store and that He never forgets.  No, He never forgets!

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
when there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand,
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying [to ourselves] that we are born to eternal life.

Guard Your Words

"Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things.  Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!  And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity:  so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.  For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:  But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.  Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.  Ot of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing.  My brethren, these things ought not so to be"
James 3: 5-10

What we tend to watch or listen to on a steady basis is what is most likely what will come out of our mouth.  Think of a television commercial.  You see the same thirty second spot over and over again until it's stuck in your mind.  Or can you recall going into the grocery store or some department store and hearing a familiar song on the overhead speakers, and by the time you get back to your automobile you're humming it or remembering the beat on your steering wheel?

It is important that we guard our mind and be watchful how we hear, what we look at and listen to.  Jesus said in Mark 4:22, 24 "For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.  Take heed what ye hear."  A person who feeds their mind on foolishness all day will more likely speak it.  But a person who focus more on the Word of God on a daily basis will tend to speak wholesome words.  You are indeed what you eat.

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer"
Psalm 19:14

We should continually be on guard with the things we meditate on.  Ask the LORD today to help you to meditate more on the Word and to take heed to the words which proceed out of your mouth.  Sometimes we can simply talk to me.  Jesus said in Matthew 5: 37 "But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay:  for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil"

"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things?  for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh"
St. Matthew 12:34

Whatever is in your heart is most likely what will come out.  Ask the LORD to create in you a clean heart and guard the words of your mouth today.  He will help you!

Early Will I Seek You

"And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed"
St. Mark 1:35

Jesus Christ set an example for us.  Arise early to talk to the Father.  I have adopted this practice and I find that it sets the tone for my entire day.  How much better it is to arise early, while most of the world still sleeps, before the busyness of tasks and chores crowd your mind.  There's just something about spending those few moments in the fresh morning dew with the Lord.  There's a peace and quietness about this time.  Most men and women who ever had a testimony that really had a work for God, spent time alone with God in the morning hours.  I currently take care of my mother who suffers from Alzheimers and many times she doesn't sleep much at night and rise earlier in the morning.  At first it was hard to adapt to this but I've now learned to take advantage of those early hours by praying.  Most of the times when she walks into the room and sees me praying she just goes back to her room.  So this is a double blessing for me.  It is a good practice if you are really seeking to develop a prayer ministry that you get up early.  The rest of your day will be more peaceful knowing that you've spent that time in prayer and not have life happen and you end up not praying at all.  I like knowing that I talk to God first before I talk to anyone else.  Learn to put Him first.   And prayer should be your most important time of the day.  It doesn't matter how long it is.  It doesn't matter what position your body's in.  Just learn to pray as Jesus did and many others who shook the world with their Faith.  Don't let the best part of the morning pass you by.

Below are some scriptures on seeking God in early morning prayer:

Psalm 5:3  "My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD:  in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up"

Psalm 88:13  "But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee"

Psalm 143:8  "Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust:  cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee"

Proverbs 8:17  "I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me"

Psalm 119:147  "I prevented the dawning of the morning, and cried:  I hoped in thy word"

Psalm 57:8  "Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp:  I myself will awake early"
