HAS GOD SAID?

"Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.  And he said to the woman, "Indeed has God said you shall not eat from any tree of the garden?"

Genesis 3:1 (NASB)

This morning's reading came from Genesis 3: 1 ---- 4:26.  The Lord requires obedience from us, and Satan's goal is to always try to stop us from obeying God.  He works in our weakest areas.  Eve surely must have desired that fruit tree from the moment she and her husband was commanded not to eat from it.  Satan knew that there was a blessing in obedience to God.  He beguiled Eve.  She then gave to Adam, who also sinned when he disobeyed.

My main thought in this passage is, "Has God said?"  The LORD speaks to us through His word.  He requires us to be obedient to it.
Satan goes about daily to contradict the Scriptures and to try and trick God's servants to go against it.  What God has said in His written word, He will perform.

"God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent:  hath He said, and shall He not do it?  or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?"

Numbers 23:19

It is therefore advisable to trust God's word, and stop listening to the lies of Satan.  To discern a lie from the truth, good from evil, a disciple of Christ must be a diligent student in the word of God daily.  Why daily?  Because Satan comes after us daily.  We must not relent and stand with resilience against all the forces sent our way to go against the written word.  Just as our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ withstood Satan during His time in the wilderness, fasting 40 days and nights (Matthew 4), His response to Satan was "It Is Written!"  Indeed it is written and Satan has been defeated.  Stand strong against Him with God's written word.

Are you struggling with something in your life today?  It is written, "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10: 4-5).

You can believe that if God said it, then He will surely bring it to pass.  Give no place to the lies of the enemy.  Has the Lord spoken something to you?  Stand on His word in obedience.  You will surely be blessed.
