JESUS CHRIST THE GREAT PHYSICIAN

"And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples.  And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto His disciples, why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?  But when Jesus heard that, He said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.  But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy and not sacrifice:  for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance"
Matthew 9: 10-13

In recent news headlines, a man was accused of killing his pregnant ex girlfriend, and then followed that crime up by murdering a beloved female police officer, who was a staple in her community.  In another part of the country, 3 black teenagers were caught on a live social media website attacking a mentally challenged boy, who was white.  We hear of these stories all of the time.  Our world is becoming more violent on every turn.  The harvest truly is ripe.

Our nation is full of sick people who need Jesus.  The Great Physician came to save such individuals.  All they have to do is come to Him in repentance.  There is no other solution for the problems and troubles we face today in our world.

"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.  Howbeith for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on Him to life everlasting"
I Timothy 1: 15-16

Whatever sin we commit, we will pay the consequences for those sins.  But, we are forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ when we come to Him in repentance.  That includes everyone.  Regardless of the sin, it's paid for with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.  What the Lord looks for is true repentance of sins, from the heart.  Many people find it hard to forgive men and women who commit such atrocious crimes against other human beings, but Jesus shed His blood for all.  He is the Great Physician, who wants everyone to come to repentance.

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"
2 Peter 3:9
